MP/Sequencer - Sending Play/Stop to the standalone MPSEQ app
Here is some documentation for your reference to send Play/Stop signals from your DAW to the MPSEQ application when it runs in standalone mode.
Ableton Live
- Open Live Preferences.
- Go to Link, Tempo & MIDI.
- In MIDI Ports, find the Output port connected to your external gear.
- Enable Sync for that Output port.
- Click the Link button on the top bar, before the Tap button.
- Press Play in Live. Live will send MIDI Clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Bitwig Studio
- Open Dashboard.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Synchronization.
- In MIDI Sync OUT, find the Output port connected to your external gear.
- Enable MIDI Clock.
- Enable MIDI Clock Start/Stop messages.
- Press Play in Bitwig. Bitwig will send clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Logic Pro
- Open File > Project Settings > Synchronization.
- Open the MIDI tab.
- Enable Transmit MIDI Clock.
- Select the MIDI Output port connected to your external gear.
- Press Play in Logic. Logic will send MIDI Clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Cubase
- Open Transport > Project Synchronization Setup.
- Go to MIDI Clock Destinations.
- Enable MIDI Clock for the Output port connected to your external gear.
- Enable Always Send Start Message if available.
- Press Play in Cubase. Cubase will send MIDI Clock and transport start/stop to that port.
FL Studio
- Open Options > MIDI Settings.
- In Output, select the MIDI port connected to your external gear.
- Enable Send master sync.
- Close MIDI Settings.
- Enable Options > Enable MIDI master sync.
- Press Play in FL Studio. FL Studio will send clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Studio One
- Open Studio One > Options > External Devices. On macOS, open Studio One > Preferences > External Devices.
- Click Add.
- Select New Instrument.
- Set Send To to the MIDI port connected to your external gear.
- Enable Send MIDI Clock.
- Enable MIDI Clock Start.
- Click OK.
- Press Play in Studio One. Studio One will send clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Reaper
- Open Options > Preferences.
- Go to Audio > MIDI Devices.
- Find the MIDI Output port connected to your external gear.
- Right click the Output port.
- Select Enable output.
- Right click the Output port again.
- Select Send clock/SPP to output.
- Press Play in Reaper. Reaper will send MIDI Clock and transport start/stop to that port.
Reason
- Open Edit > Preferences. On macOS, open Reason > Settings or Preferences.
- Go to Sync.
- Set MIDI Clock Sync to Send MIDI Clock.
- Select the MIDI Output port connected to your external gear.
- Press Play in Reason. Reason will send MIDI Clock and transport start/stop to that port.
